BJJ Belts in Sizes A0 to A5
A belt is the one piece of BJJ gear that holds your rank. It should stay tied, fit your gi and look right at the academy.
DAAN BJJ belts come in white, blue, purple, brown and black, in six sizes from A0 to A5, for $17 each.
Straight answer: DAAN BJJ belts come in sizes A0 to A5 at $17. Match the belt size to your gi size, and if you are between sizes, take the longer one. Belt lengths differ by brand, so check the size chart of the gi you wear.
DAAN BJJ Belt Colors
All five belts have the DAAN label. The black belt has a red bar and the other colors have a black bar.
How to Choose Your BJJ Belt Size
The simplest rule is to match the belt size to your gi size. An A2 gi pairs with an A2 belt. If you are between sizes, take the longer belt, since a short belt will not tie properly.
Belt lengths are not standardized across brands, so use the size chart for your gi rather than comparing against another brand's belt.
| Size | Price |
|---|---|
| A0 | $17 |
| A1 | $17 |
| A2 | $17 |
| A3 | $17 |
| A4 | $17 |
| A5 | $17 |
How to Tie a BJJ Belt
Wrap the belt around your waist twice, cross the ends in front and tie a square knot. Keep the two tails even. Retie it between rounds if it loosens.
BJJ Belt Colors and Rank
Adult rank runs white, blue, purple, brown, black. Your coach promotes you, not the store. Kids systems often use different colors, so ask your coach which belt your child needs.
